Dr. Jonathan Piga is an internist trained in diagnostic and therapeutic medicine that focuses exclusively on adults 18 years and older. His extensive medical training encompasses a broad spectrum of diseases, from simple upper respiratory tract infections to multiple medical issues like diabetes with high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels.

As a Doctor of Internal Medicine, Dr. Jonathan Piga is different from other types of doctors because he specializes in adult health care. He is not a “Family Physician” or a “General Practitioner” (GP), so he does not treat children or deliver babies. Neither is he an “Intern”, which refers to a doctor who is a trainee just out of medical school.

As a Primary Care Physician for “the whole patient”, Dr. Piga is trained to care for any adult sickness, no matter how common or strange it is, or how easy or hard it is. He keeps up with the latest about:

  • The heart and blood vessels
  • Cancer
  • Diabetes
  • Digestion
  • Liver
  • Kidneys
  • Blood
  • Hormones
  • Infections
  • Rheumatism
  • Adolescence
  • Old age

Dr. Piga cares for patients from their teen years through old age. He provides annual physical exams at the office that involve general check-ups with a review of health issues and anticipatory guidance tailored specifically for you, the patient.

As an Internist, Dr. Piga cares for his patients for life. He sees them in his office and manages their care even when other doctors are involved. They may ask for his help with their own patients. Dr. Piga can act as a consultant to other physicians to help solve puzzling diagnostic problems. This is why a Doctor of Internal Medicine is often called, “The Doctor’s Doctor”.
